Tumbling River Ranch high in the Pike National Forest.
Tumbling River Ranch - An Enchanting hideaway carved out in 1946. High in the Pike National Forest where the Rockies cut the sun and the air tastes like snow and cedar.
An intentionally small exclusive guest ranch with only 21 guestrooms and cabins located in the Colorado Rockies just one hour from Denver. A year-round home for mountain adventure. Surrounded by the 1-million-acre Pike National Forest and Mount Evans Wilderness, the ranch offers a rare sense of privacy and place, surrounded by soaring peaks, whispering pines, alpine meadows, and rushing river waters. The continental divide and legendary Mount Bierstadt are nearby.
Western Heritage Meets Modern Comfort
Our 21 guest rooms and cabins, many dating back to the 1940s, combine historic charm with modern comfort. Renovations focused on sustainability through reuse and upcycling. Choose from cozy cabins, king rooms, multi-bedroom units, or a 4-bedroom ranch house. Each space features unique layouts, sustainable furnishings, organic bedding, and thoughtfully designed bathrooms with premium fixtures.
All Inclusive Open Fire Ranch Cuisine
Dining at the ranch is a culinary journey with chef prepared cuisine cooked on open fire, including three daily offerings of breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus snacks and beverages. Meals are served both family-style feasts and plated presentations, all enjoyed with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Seasonal cookouts in the forest and campfire gatherings with s'mores offer special moments of connection amidst the ranch's natural beauty. Whether gathered in the main dining area, around the ranch, or in scenic offsite spots, every bite celebrates fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Ranch Activities
Guests enjoy a guided horseback ride exploring the breathtaking beauty of the Colorado Rockies from the saddle. Rides typically last about two hours, with an extended option offered on select days, and bespoke ride experiences may be arranged upon request. There are a range of other complimentary activities and entertainment, from archery, lawn games, and ice skating on our pond to puzzles and board games in the lodge or historic Ranch House. With four trailheads beginning right on the property, guests can choose self-guided hikes and snowshoe outings or join guided hikes led by our knowledgeable staff. Campfire experiences and seasonal cookouts bring guests together in scenic spots on the property and in the forest.
