Welcome to Tumbling River Ranch. It is our home, and we, the owners, are here everyday and involved in every way to make your guest ranch experience the trip of a lifetime.
I was one of the luckiest kids in the world growing up. In 1975 my parents, Jim and Mary Dale Gordon, decided to make a major change and move our family from the heat of Dallas, TX to Tumbling River Ranch in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I was 18 months old. I spent my childhood watching families deepen their family ties through visiting the ranch for a week and sharing their experiences in this magical place.
My husband, Scott, and I began buying and running Tumbling River Ranch over 10 years ago, and we smile as we watch our daughter, Laney, and son, Finn, experience the same fun as I did growing up here.
The number one question I get every week is “Megan, do you have any siblings?” Believe it or not, I have three older brothers! This immediately leads to the question about how the youngest daughter ended up buying the ranch.... Well, the answer is that I was very lucky to meet Scott.
Although a born and raised “city kid,” Scott has evolved into an incredible dude rancher. He loves the ranch, the lifestyle and most of all, the guests. Scott has brought so many amazing changes and details to TRR. He is able to see the ranch without the baggage and “that is how it has always been” attitude when it comes to making changes. For example, Scott thought we were really missing a fly-fishing piece to the ranch and has since added entire days and staff to that event. He has also improved so much of the physical ranch, from the famous “soccer field” (Scott has a pretty good game for a dude rancher), to the pool remodel, to the new campfire site, to our new footbridge. He has also been instrumental in our corral changes. He has found the perfect “county club” to winter our horses and boy, do they come back fit and happy. He has also become quite a horseman in his own right. In the fall, he takes a “guys only” pack trip and picks a trail in CO that he has never set foot in (nor have other Coloradans) and packs everything in and up for the weeks event. I am so pleased not to be invited on this trip!
As you can see, we love the ranch. We are constantly changing and growing the ranch, and we are really enjoying ourselves along the way. We hope you will come visit our family and experience this great place!
Sincerely,
Megan & Scott
